Every project in FastKnowledge has a standalone website where readers can browse your knowledge base. The portal is separate from the admin panel and is accessible via a unique URL based on your project's custom domain.
The portal is what your end users, customers, or employees see when they look up documentation.
Who can use this?
The portal is accessible to readers (anyone you choose to give access to). No FastKnowledge account is required to read your your knowledge base. For private portals, readers must verify their email before gaining access.
Portal URL
Your project's portal is at: https://app.fastknowledge.io/base/<your-custom-domain>
For example, if your custom domain is "acme-help", the portal is: https://app.fastknowledge.io/base/acme-help.
What readers see on the portal
The portal home page displays:
- Your project's logo and site name (see Project settings).
- A list of all active categories in their defined order.
- A Trending section with the 5 most-viewed articles.
- A Search bar.
Category page
Clicking a category shows all active articles in that category.
Limits and constraints
Only active articles with a published version appear on the portal.
Only active, non-archived categories appear on the portal home page.
Inactive projects return a "domain not available" error page to readers.
If a custom domain does not exist or the project is deleted, readers see a 404 "not available" page.
