A passkey is a modern, passwordless way to log in to FastKnowledge. Instead of typing a password and entering a 2FA code, you simply approve a biometric or hardware prompt on your device — a fingerprint, Face ID, or a physical security key.
Passkeys are more secure than passwords because they are tied to your specific device and cannot be phished or stolen through fake login pages.
Who can use this?
All logged-in users. Your browser and device must support the WebAuthn standard (supported by all modern browsers including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop and mobile).
How to register a passkey
When you log in for the first time without a passkey registered, the platform may show a modal prompting you to set one up. You can also register one at any time:
1. After logging in, look for the Set Up Passkey option in your account settings or in the prompt that appears after login.
2. Click Register Passkey.
3. Your browser will prompt you with your device's authentication method (fingerprint scanner, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key).
4. Complete the biometric or hardware confirmation.
5. The passkey is registered to your account. A success message confirms it.
You can register multiple passkeys (for example, one on your laptop and one on your phone).
How to log in with a passkey
1. Go to the login page.
2. Select the passkey login option.
3. Your browser shows a list of registered passkeys for this site.
4. Select your passkey and approve the biometric or hardware prompt.
5. You are logged in immediately — no password, no 2FA code required.
How to remove a passkey
1. Navigate to your account security settings.
2. Find the list of registered passkeys.
3. Click Remove next to the passkey you want to delete.
4. Confirm the removal.
The passkey is immediately deactivated. You can still log in with your email and password.
Passkeys require a browser and operating system that support WebAuthn. This includes all major modern browsers released after 2022.
If you remove all passkeys, you will be prompted to register a new one on your next login (the prompt appears once per login session).
